Last Sunday, our Jiu-Jitsu team competed at the Grappling X tournament at Westlake High School. Even though we had only ten kids and three adults competing, we made a huge impact and won some incredible awards!
In the Youth No-Gi Competition, we took first place. In the Youth Gi competition, we earned second place. These wins show how hard our team has been training and how much we’ve learned in our Jiu-Jitsu classes throughout this year.
Our young athletes brought home an impressive collection of medals:
Nicolas secured a solid 3rd place
Angelo and Colten both earned 2nd place
Kasen achieved both gold and silver medals
Jorden, Parker, and Tristen each won double gold medals
Blake and Dylan claimed gold medals
Lennox earned a respectable 3rd place
Our adult competitors also represented our team with pride:
Jonathan Wilburn won gold
Nicole Stone placed 3rd
This victory isn't just about the medals. It's about our entire Gracie Barra Simi Valley family. Every student who trains with us, and who pushes each other during practice, helped make this success possible. Our coaches - Aiden, Joel, and Taylor - were instrumental in guiding and supporting our students in this tournament.
